Dingup House Concert w/ Tanya Ransom and Tracey Barnett – Sun, January 20th

Beloved Bridgetown singer-songwriter Tracey Barnett and Kimberley songstress Tanya Ransom will be sharing their kindred music styles for a one off show at Dingup House on Sunday 20th January from 3pm.

After a short tour together last Summer, they have been patiently awaiting an opportunity to collaborate again. Both their musical style and their individual careers have complimented the other, with both releasing new albums in 2017 and receiving nominations for ‘Best Regional Act’ at the West Australian Music Industry Awards for 2 years running.

Barnett was fortunate enough to be awarded the title this year, but says it could have been anyone’s. “I know all the nominees, how hard they work, and how talented they are! It was a huge surprise and a great honour to win, but I feel all of us were deserving.” The awards night was Barnett’s first stop after returning from a month long tour of Victoria and NSW, and expressed it was the ultimate welcome.

Tanya Ransom is visiting the region as part of a national tour sharing her soulful folk blues from her debut album ‘It Is What It Is’ (2013) and sophomore album “The Art Of Departing’ (2017). The Broome musician has performed at multiple festivals and was a standout at Nannup Music Festival in 2018. “Tanya Ransom exudes beauty, from her music and her performance. She delivers with strength and passion, radiating her Kimberley glow. Her shows at Nannup Music Festival are always loved, from the audience and fellow musicians who embrace her magic.” commented Nannup Music Festival’s Music Director, Phaedra Watts.

Together the pair hand-picked Dingup House for this special event. The Rustic atmosphere of ‘ The Barn’ lends itself to their style of music. Owners Chris Utech and Philip Salvage are just as excited as the musicians. “This is a community event to bring families out for an afternoon of live music. We invite you to bring your chairs or picnic rugs and enjoy the country atmosphere. Kick back relax, dance if you like, and listen to some entertaining stories and great music.”

Tickets are $20 (under 16’s free). More information is available by phoning Chris at Dingup House on 0407 193 231.

Sunday Session with Live Music featuring Jeremiah Johnson – Sun, April 22nd

Unquestionably one of Australia’s hardest working, full time touring Australian Troubadours. Described as an indelible and lofty acoustic guitar driven songwriter. His admirable qualities are detailed lyrics, memorable stories and noteworthy guitar playing.

Currently touring “Head Towards The Sun”, his fourth studio album which boasts a rich intimate focus on voice and a raft of witty narratives. Born, more so, in this album than previous releases is the uncluttered presence of a band. Instead, there is a rootsy and very grounded bed of music played by himself and the co-producer/engineer Mark Myers (The Middle East).

With accolades to have played for “Prince William of the Royal Family” and support act for acclaimed international touring acts Gomez, Donovan Frankenreiter, Harry Manx and Australia’s own Hat Fitz & Cara, Angus and Julia Stone, Jeff Martin (The Tea Party), Neil Murray, The Basics, Skinny Jean Band, and Thelma Plum.

Cost : $25 for adults, kids are free. Pay at the gate. Licensed bar. Sausage Sizzle $4. Bring picnic rugs and nibbles.
